Changes

This blog has been rather quiet recently, as some of you have observed. (Many thanks to you who've been posting comments anyway; it's very nice to know I'm missed!) There've been several reasons, but it's mainly been that the press of activity connected with commuting, family commitments, and church involvement has left me very little time to write. (And, I admit, I've spent several hours reading The Count of Monte Cristo when I could have been blogging, but it sure was fun. And since I'm only on page 473 or so of this 700-page volume, I've still got lots more murders, disguises, poisoning, witty exchanges, narrow escapes, and so forth to look forward to...)

But back to more serious things. A big decision has also been taking up much of my time and thoughts over the last several weeks. The long and short of it is this: I've decided to move. Some lovely ladies at Covenant Life Church invited me to live with them in a townhouse near where I work. After a few weeks of prayer and seeking counsel (my future roommates are very patient!), it seemed to be God's will. I'll probably move at the beginning of May.

I'm looking forward to being close to work and church, and at the same time very sad about leaving my family. It's good to know that God's plan is perfect, and that he has even the details under control. Knowing that I have only two months left at home has made family time doubly precious. I'm hoping to spend as much time as possible with them over these several weeks.

Which will probably lead to a quiet blog, at least until I move. Weekly poetry will take a break for a while (not that I've even been posting it faithfully of late--my humble apologies). I may post occasional updates, but if you don't see many new posts here you can imagine me playing "Go Fish" or reading stories to Little One or taking little sisters to coffee or taking long walks with my used-to-be-little brothers.

And I hope to visit PHC a few more times before graduation. (Someone please tell me as soon as they schedule the Liberty Ball!) I'm still glad I was with everyone on the Last Late-Night Walk Down The Trail In The Moonlight before that puzzled policeman asked what on earth we were doing. But if we can't take late-night walks anymore, here's to a mountain hike, and a contradance, before May 20!

Do visit lady!

I am glad to hear that God has been moving in your life, and sad that you have to leave your home so soon. May your days be well, and I hope to see you soon!

I checked which page I was really on in The Count of Monte Cristo, and I'm actually on page seven hundred something out of 1400 pages or so. My memory wasn't working too well when I wrote this blog post! And yes, it definitely is more on-subject that that other voluminous French work. But it hasn't made me cry yet. :-)
