May I have this dance?

I learned last night that in Oxford, the Royal Scottish Dancing Society meets on Tuesdays. My sister and I decided we are definitely taking our dancing shoes.

On another subject (rather unrelated to the title of this post), on the metro home this evening I read a thought-provoking discussion of church unity. Gene Edward Veith writes,

There are many different denominations and different theological traditions, each with its own characteristic beliefs and practices. I do not consider this a bad thing.... It is far better, in my opinion, to have a diversity of churches than to have a diversity of theological positions within a church.
What do you think?

On second thought, Veith's quote is related to the title of this post. Now that brings some interesting analogies to mind...

Wow, that's an interesting quote. So long as each denomination finds its identity in the Person of God as defined in Scripture and not in its own theological standpoints, I would say diversity is a good thing. However, if the bond between believers is not the truth of God's Word, then division, whether inside the church or within Christianity, is going to result.

That's my two cents. I've got about a dollar's worth. I've been following this one on some other blogs!
