Postscript

Ha ha, this weekend my car's tape player broke, so I can play neither tapes nor CDs. So now you can picture me driving up the Beltway in silence, or with occasional classical music from the radio. So much the better for prayer, I'm learning.

Florence doesn't really like tapes or CD's. I've found though that long car trips are perfect times to either listen to the radio (98.7 and 99.9 are good country, 91.9 okay Christian ...) or pray and think through things.

I find that I need time alone every day for prayer and thought, and sometimes I almost wish my commute were a little longer than 5 minutes. A lot can be accomplished mentally while driving down the road :).

I used to listen to classical music in my car . . . until a big-headed radio station whose initials are WTOP decided to switch frequencies. Now I receive the soundwaves of WGMS through a sparkling haze of interference. No fun.
