Mr. and Mrs. Mark Leichliter

are now happily on their honeymoon after getting married in Flint, Michigan last Saturday. The Wasson twins and I drove up there and back (23 hours round trip), they to be bridesmaids and I to attend. The trip was my introduction to the midwest. I learned to dislike Detroit and to enjoy midwestern speed limits. (Now I understand what you all were complaining about when you came to VA.) I also learned to love Mark & Erin's families and their generous hospitality. The weekend was a whirlwind of flowers, hairdos, ironing, pictures, bridesmaids, meals, lots of chocolate cookies, and of course, the wedding, held in an Assemblies of God church near Flint.

A number of current and former PHC students came, including Josh "Crazy-Rent-a-Car" Dispenza, who in the space of about two days drove from New York to Flint to Tennessee to Flint to Ohio to Flint, pretty much non-stop, and without whose efforts several PHC students would not have made it to the wedding. Long live the shiny blue PT Cruiser! (Although I think that trip may have shortened its lifespan.)

And Erin's aunt and uncle are awesome. I would almost make up reasons to drive to Flint just to stay with them again.

And David Derby is awesome too. David, your tribute to Mark and his family was one of the highlights of the weekend. And then there was the hospitality that overflowed from your family to everyone there. Wow.
